Jessica Masters

Jessica Masters Pastels

Jessica was born and raised in Owen Sound. In 1995, She completed her degree in Fine Art at the University of Guelph, Specializing in drawing and printmaking. After Graduation, she worked as a printmaking technician in the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph until 2002, while participating in both group and solo exhibitions.

Since leaving the University, she has worked as a master printer at Riverside Studios in Elora, and has taught printmaking workshops at other institutions including: The University of Waterloo, Georgian College, Kitchener-Wterloo Art Gallery, and Open Studio in Toronto. In 2002 she was the “Artist in Residence” at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.

Despite the focus on printmaking in her fine-art career, over the past ten years the work that has made up her personal portfolio has primarily been landscape drawing using chalk pastel. Her images range from representational to abstract, and her artistic goal is to meet the two somewhere in the middle.
