Linda Finn

When Linda Finn moved to Northern Onatrio in 1975 with her family, she felt that this place was home. The connection with being in the right place at the right time allowed her to learn, experiment and grow as an artist.

Since then, her award-winning work has been shown in over a hundred exhibitions and earned her election to the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, The Ontario Society of Artists, the Society of Canadian Artists, and the Northern Ontario Art Association.

A love of language continues to influence Linda’s work. Her style has evolved by experimentation with new media and techniques. Using paint, paper, found materials and textiles to express her ideas, she makes unusual pieces that are sometimes mysterious, always thoughtful, and sometimes just plain fun.

Watercolour has been her medium of choice, but printmaking, papermaking, handmade books, and mixed media offer many more choices when developing a theme. “I am intrigued by curious combinations and situations that have meaning for me and also for the viewer.”

Linda’s work may be found in many public and corporate collections such as those of the Ontario government, Ontario Northland, Cambrian College, White Mountain Academy of the Arts, Timmins Museum, Northeastern Oncology Centre, Crownx, as well as numerous private collections around the world.
